riveRside summer at the Amstel

Oh, I didn’t know you could sit on the terrace of the hotel without being a guest”, a phrase we heard countless times during this project. The Amstel Hotel has a stunning terrace overlooking the river, a place open to everyone who fancies. Our challenge was clear: how do we launch the summer season while turning the spotlight on this iconic place? From strategic brainstorm and production, to two full shoot days and final delivery, we created a film as magical as the terrace itself.

Bringing the story to life

The start of summer deserves a celebration on its own, so we set out to create a film that captured not only the beautiful terrace but the iconic character of the Amstel Hotel. The result: a Wes Anderson-inspired story, filled with playful, cinematic scenes flowing into one perfect summer’s day at the Amstel. Everything was designed to feel surprising and magical (hello synchronized swimmers!), steering away from the traditional promotional video.

Our approach

From strategic brainstorm, concept and pre-production, to two days of shooting, editing and delivery, we created multiple variations and formats tailored to different channels. This ensured the story lived everywhere it needed to: online, on social, and inside the hotel itself.

Behind the scenes

What we loved most was how our ideas came to life. During the brainstorm someone joked, “What if we add synchronized swimmers?” A few calls later, we had a swimming school happy to help us out. Also the creative team we assembled for this project worked seamlessly together and the two shoot days were as fun as the final result.
